
Following the unprecedented growth in the value-added glass and aluminium products industry, a new acronym was proposed for Africa Glass. AGI – Aluminium and Glass Industries. Products as diverse as integrated window systems, shower and bathroom products to industrial scale glazing solutions for commercial properties.

What I do stands out in the broad light of day for all to see. Clear and simple.
The letter forms are inspired by the aluminium extrusions when viewed in section. The symbol is a metaphor for the harmony and dynamic tension that exists between the two distinctly different materials, aluminium and glass, which come together to create the products of AGI.
The two materials begin in harmony and move outward from each other to form a circular device, but end in dynamic tension through a 90º connection. Various renderings of the symbol were created through 0º to 360º at 20º intervals. The identity relies on the dynamic nature inherent in the various renderings whilst the logotype remains the constant to which they are anchored.
